Volunteer Residential Counselor Opportunities
You can make a difference in the lives of an entire group of children by volunteering to live and work for a year with children in-need who benefit from your role-modeling, guidance, support, care and nurturing.
Boys Hope Girls Hope recruits, screens, trains, and places volunteers to work alongside professional staff in providing surrogate parenting for a group of 8 children, ages 10 to 18. The annual Boys Hope Girls Hope volunteer corps program runs from June to June of each year and provides a rewarding experience of helping children develop into young adults. However, we do look for and interview volunteers throughout the year.
Volunteer benefits include:
The opportunity to live and work in a community with caring individuals who share a common commitment toward youth.
- $200 per month stipend for one year.
- Room and board for one year.
- Health Insurance for one year.
- Transportation assistance.
- Initial group orientation and training.
- On-the-job training, support and supervision.
Applicants are encouraged to have their application materials completed by May 1 of each year. Volunteers may renew their commitment for additional years and after one year service completion may apply for full-time residential house-parent employment status.
After a one year service completion, Boys Hope Girls Hope provides a year-end stipend, called "Commitment to Service" award of $2,500.
