Director of Post-Secondary Success and Strategic Partnerships

As the Director of Post-Secondary Success and Strategic Partnerships, the selected candidate is responsible for and completion of post-secondary education and the launch of ones career. This position is on the Boys Hope Girls Hope Network Headquarters team and supports the mission and work of the entire Boys Hope Girls Hope Network. 

  • Experienced in youth development, academics and learning, and higher education processes, especially admissions and financial aid
  • Approachable and able to translate pertinent and valuable information on all levels including team members, affiliates, strategic partners, and build relationships through public speaking and training events.
  • Able to communicate the Boys Hope Girls Hope impact and value proposition to high level leaders of universities, foundations, and service organizations as well as private philanthropists.

Responsibilities for this position fall into three key areas:

Use of best practices in program preparation to support young people for success in college, careers, and life
  • Oversee program development and delivery across the network in life, college and career preparation for scholars, persistence for collegians, and career launch and thriving for alumni and to advise on pertinent policy.
  • With the Mission Effectiveness team, to play a critical leadership role for Boys Hope Girls Hope Network programing, including Collegiate Prep Seminar, the Guatemala Immersion Experience, and other experiential learning projects to be developed.
  • Direct the Boys Hope Girls Hope Steward Scholars Program, including relationship management, policy, selections, and coordination.
  • Oversee the Boys Hope Girls Hope Scholarship Program that provides additional financial resources for collegians.
Delivery of high quality post-secondary preparation, persistence, completion and career-launch supports
  • With the Mission Effectiveness Team, coordinate the linkage of affiliates across the network for the discovery, interchange and implementation of ideas, solutions, and best practices specific to college access, college affordability, and college success by co-facilitating on-line, teleconference, and in person dialogue.
  • In collaboration with the Mission Effectiveness team, to deliver training to team members in college access, preparation, and persistence as well as career preparation.
Ability to create and retain strategic partnerships with higher education institutions, internship placements, and other youth development and scholarship organizations
  • In collaboration with the Network Headquarters team and affiliate leaders, to develop, service, and track high-level relationships with colleges and universities to yield the following benefits:
    • Funding opportunities for Boys Hope Girls Hope collegians
    • University-based retention and completion programming services for collegians
    • Programs to support the ongoing education of Boys Hope Girls Hope team members
    • Placement of work study and practicum students on Boys Hope Girls Hope teams
    • In kind sharing of resources such as sites for programming and recreation for team members and scholars
    • Psycho-educational Assessment and counseling services for scholars in middle school, high school, and college
    • In concert with the Boys Hope Girls Hope development team, to establish partnerships with individuals and non-university organizations to help fund scholarships for collegians and/or the providing of college success services
    • To build partnerships with organizations as internship and practicum placement sites for Boys Hope Girls Hope scholars and collegians

  • Master’s degree or higher in a related field
  • Excellent team leadership and supervisory skills
  • Experience and expertise in developing and delivering college access and persistence programming
  • Track record of effective capacity building and collaboration
  • Cultural competenceDemonstrated excellence in problem-solving, interpersonal communication, and collaboration
  • Efficiency and effectiveness in managing multiple priorities and delivering results
