This Spring, we embark on an exciting new chapter as Boys Hope Girls Hope becomes Hope Ignites—a name that represents our mission to spark lasting change and opportunity for youth across the U.S. and Latin America. To celebrate this milestone, our scholars will pass the torch from city to city in the 5th Annual Walk to Hope, a virtual journey like no other.
We’re inviting corporate sponsors to help fuel the flame of hope by engaging employees, clients, and partners in logging miles and raising funds for a cause that’s changing lives. As participants walk, they’ll explore the Spark the Journey video series, produced by documentary filmmaker Timmy Vatterott, which showcases the inspiring stories of our affiliates and scholars. By supporting Walk to Hope, you’re directly contributing to the growth of these remarkable individuals, helping them move mountains—one step at a time.

As individual walkers and teams take this virtual journey around the Hope Ignites Network together, you’ll learn more about the amazing scholars, collegians, and alumni who overcome obstacles, find their purpose, and achieve their goals in the Hope Ignites family.
What IS Walk to Hope?
This is a virtual, month-long step challenge that takes place where you are – in your home, neighborhood, gym, the park…. anywhere and anytime you can walk, run, bike, or roll!
Why Step Up?
Hope Ignites has always been there for young people at pivotal moments in their lives. Our scholars face the harsh realities of poverty—struggling families, neighborhood violence, underperforming schools, and limited opportunities. Yet, they bring with them resilience, determination, and big dreams.
With the support of friends like you, we are empowering 1,250 scholars and collegians across 12 U.S. cities, Mexico, and Guatemala to reach their full potential. What sets us apart is our long-term commitment. We support our scholars from middle school through high school, college, and into their early careers, offering two pathways: the Academy pathway with year-round programming, and the Residential pathway, which provides a home and round-the-clock care. In addition, we offer scholarships, wrap-around support, and career connections for our collegians and alumni.
We’re proud to support young people from very low-income households, helping them break the cycle of poverty for themselves and their families. Our impact is evident in their high rates of enrollment, persistence, and graduation in higher education. Our programs are designed to empower scholars for success in both education and employment.

INDIVIDUALS
Invite your family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues to donate to your fundraiser by sponsoring you! Designate your funds to the Hope Ignites Network or your local affiliate. Compete for the Top Finisher Medal! Individuals can join a team, too!
TEAMS
Anyone can form a team! To qualify as a team, you must have at least eight (8) members, including yourself. Invite your family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues to take part in the challenge. Walk, ride, or roll together and go for the team prizes!

Support the Hope Ignites Network or your local affiliate with a corporate sponsorship.

Social Responsibility: Walk to Hope is a fun and fitness-oriented way for your employees and colleagues to invest themselves in the community. Because of its geographic scope, you can build momentum and camaraderie by forming a company-wide team or encourage healthy competition by forming regional teams!
Visibility: Last year’s Walk to Hope drew over 500 walkers from 29 states and four countries who received many messages featuring sponsor names and logos. We also tout sponsor involvement on our website, the Charity Footprints app, and strategic communications on our social media channels.
Exponential Influence: Each walker can leverage greater impact by raising funds from friends, family, and corporate matching through the Charity Footprints app. Each person can also choose to support the scholars and collegians at a specific affiliate, or all our youth through Hope Ignites Network Headquarters.

THE ROUTE
As participants log their miles on the Charity Footprints app, a torch will pass from city to city as you learn more about the scholars through the Spark the Journey video series.
