Boys Hope Girls Hope is very excited and honored to be the subject of an article in the Fall 2021 edition of the nationwide publication, WayMaker Journal. Titled “Dream Makers,” the feature story includes interviews with Boys Hope Girls Hope Network President & CEO Kristin Ostby and two-time Super Bowl Champion alumni Greg Scruggs.
This tremendous opportunity is one of many made possible over the years by BET President of Media Sales Louis Carr, a strong advocate for Boys Hope Girls Hope and former Network board member. Waymaker Journal, his latest venture, is designed “to inspire and motivate individuals to attain their best life by transparently sharing our stories and journeys.”
As a leading supporter of Boys Hope Girls Hope’s college preparation programming since 2005, Louis and BET have impacted thousands of youth by making it possible for us to provide the year-round My Road curriculum to middle-to-high schoolers and the weeklong Collegiate Prep experience for graduating high school seniors.
Louis also has shared his time and insights as a speaker for several scholar events, and invited collegians to his Blueprint for Men seminar. Just this past summer, Inique Wilson, a collegian from our Southern California affiliate, completed an internship with the cable network BET Her funded through the Louis Carr Foundation.
