Three Alumni Support Fellows Begin Work for Network Headquarters Office.

Today, Boys Hope Girls Hope alumni are giving back to the affiliates and the Network in greater numbers than ever as board members, speakers, legacy leaders in Network programs, mentors, tutors, and team members. Still, we know that the rich potential for organizational transformation and powerful networking among themselves has barely been tapped.

With this in mind, the Network created a new six-month term position: the Alumni Support Fellow. Who better to spark alumni engagement than fellow Boys Hope Girls Hope alumni?  Under the direction of the Mission Effectiveness team, this position will organize and execute programs, events, and communications that increase alumni engagement. They will be working ten hours a week for the next six months.

Advertising for the position began in February through postings on the career page, social media, and affiliate outreach. There was a great response. After interviewing numerous qualified candidates, we hired Aaliyah Navarro, Latoya Holmes, and Monet Wright.

Aaliyah Navarro

Aaliyah Navarro (’13) is an alum of the Colorado affiliate. She works at the University of North Texas as a Community Director for the Texas Academy of Math & Science. Aaliyah remains active with Boys Hope Girls Hope since graduating, even serving the New Orleans affiliate as a Residential Counselor

Latoya Holmes

Latoya Holmes (’23) is an alum of the New York affiliate. Latoya was a very active collegian during her time in the program. She was a BHGH World Wide Technology Scholar, Legacy Leader, and participated in the Guatemala Service and Immersion Experience as a participant and, later, as a second-year chaperone. Currently, Latoya is an Executive Team Lead for Target.

Monet Wright

Monet Wright (’23) is an alum of the Northeastern Ohio affiliate. A graduate of Alabama A&M University, she has always looked for ways to give back to the organization. This has included contributing content to the My Road 3.0 upgrade. Recently, Monet was a Middle School Teaching Fellow at her affiliate. She works Nestlè in supply chain management.

In addition to alumni engagement and support, the fellows will support the Mission Effectiveness team on various initiatives and programs, including post-secondary programming, experiential learning and scholar development, and enhancing alumni data records.

We look forward to the Alumni Support Fellow position becoming an integral part of Boys Hope Girls Hope, taking both alumni engagement and the organization to new heights.
