About Us

Boys Hope Girls Hope is the catalyst that helps young people achieve their full potential. We are connecting with youth when they are 10-13 years old, who are bright, motivated, and inspired to help their families break the cycle of poverty and create a new beginning. In partnership with their families and guardians, our job is to guide and nurture them on the way there. We help them find their purpose and passion by exposing them to life, educational, and professional opportunities they might not otherwise be able to access.  

 

We make a long-term commitment to our young people from middle school, through high school, college, and into their early careers. There is one program with two unique but complementary pathways to meet young people’s needs. Our Academy provides year-round, out-of-school time programming. Our Residential pathway serves as the primary home for scholars who receive round-the-clock care in a structured and loving environment. We provide scholarships, wrap-around support and connections to internships and jobs for post-secondary/collegian students.   

  

The Boys Hope Girls Hope Network includes more than 250 team members and 300 volunteers, who work together to serve more than 1,200 young people in cities across the United States, Guatemala and Mexico. Scholars come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and we encourage applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences to apply.

Position Description

Boys Hope Girls Hope Network Headquarters seeks an experienced professional with excellent writing and communication skills to support its advancement efforts as the full-time Grants & Stewardship Manager. Responsibilities include supporting fund development outcomes through grant and proposal writing, donor stewardship, and reporting. The Grants and Stewardship Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Advancement at the Network Headquarters. The position is open to candidates residing in the St. Louis metropolitan area and remote applicants. 

Primary responsibilities include supporting Boys Hope Girls Hope fundraising for central leadership in youth development programming, college preparation and support, administrative operations, marketing, technology, communications, and performance management at an exciting time when the organization embarks upon a campaign to scale impact. The Grants and Stewardship Manager also supports the Network Headquarters’ collaborative funding initiatives and advancement training support for professionals across the network of 15 affiliates.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct grant-writing and proposal development: 

  • Research grant prospects and write proposals to support Network Headquarters and collaborative opportunities to benefit the affiliate network. 
  • Report on funded grants to support the organization and its initiatives. 
  • Execute all grant programs, projects, and related assessments/reports in coordination with program staff to ensure that Boys Hope Girls Hope excels in fulfilling all grant agreements and acquires subsequent awards. 
  • Manage the calendar of grant prospects to ensure the timeliness of submissions and reports to published deadlines. 

Increase donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, engagement, and retention: 

  • Support donor engagement strategies to increase retention, awareness, and funding from individuals, corporations, and foundations. 
  • Research and report on giving prospects, including background, capacity, and wealth screening, preparing reports using Salesforce, the organization’s Constituent Relationship Management system, on a timely basis for use by the Vice President of Advancement and CEO in solicitations. 
  • Meet with foundation and corporation representatives for solicitation, stewardship, and reporting. 
  • Execute all appeals and acknowledgments —email, direct mail, and targeted campaigns—according to the annual Development Plan with support from the Database and Development Coordinator and Administrative Support Specialist.

Qualifications 

Ideal candidates will:

  • Excellent writing, organizational, and verbal communication skills. 
  • Experience in successfully writing and procuring grants. 
  • At least five years of relevant development experience within a highly performance-driven organization. 
  • Possess the ability to set, manage, and meet personal and organizational timelines and deadlines. 
  • Possess computer literacy with knowledge of donor database systems a plus. 
  • Ability to coordinate multiple responsibilities, remain self-motivated, and utilize good problemsolving skills. 
  • Ability to work within a faith-inspired, values-based environment. 
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree.
