Spark the Journey

Who We Are
At Boys Hope Girls Hope, soon to be Hope Ignites, we have always been there for young people at pivotal moments in their lives. Affectionately known as our scholars, our youth face the harsh realities of growing up in poverty, including families struggling to make ends meet, neighborhood violence, underperforming schools, and limited exposure to opportunities. They also bring with them grit, resilience, determination, and big dreams.
With the support of friends like you, Boys Hope Girls Hope is empowering 1,250 highly motivated scholars and collegians in great need across 12 US Cities, Mexico, and Guatemala to achieve their full potential. What sets us apart is the long-term commitment we make to our scholars through middle school, high school, college, and early careers.
What We Do
We meet young people where they are as their needs evolve, offering two pathways: the Academy pathway provides year-round, out-of-school programming, while the Residential pathway also offers a primary home with other scholars and round-the-clock care for those who need it. Additionally, we provide scholarships, wrap-around support, and connections to internships and jobs for our collegians and alumni.
Hope Burns Bright, Even in the Toughest Times
We’re living in uncertain times, and the challenges facing young people have never been more daunting. For the scholars we serve, hope and opportunity can feel out of reach—but with your support, we can change that.
Now more than ever, your partnership can help them rise above adversity, unlock their potential, and achieve dreams once thought impossible. Your support can make all the difference.
The Population We Serve:
- 90% are from very low-income households
- 96% are persons of color
- 86% are first-generation college students
Join us as we continue our work and help transform the lives of our scholars. Between now and June 30, we need your help to be there for the young people who depend on us.
