Challenge your friends, family, employees, and co-workers to log the most miles and raise the most funds! As individual walkers and teams take this virtual journey around the Boys Hope Girls Hope Network together, you’ll learn more about the amazing scholars, collegians, and alumni who overcome obstacles, find their purpose, and achieve their goals in the Boys Hope Girls Hope family.
What IS Walk to Hope?
This is a virtual, month-long step challenge that takes place where you are – in your home, neighborhood, gym, the park…. anywhere and anytime you can walk, run, bike, or roll!
Why Walk?
Now more than ever, the world needs future leaders who become changemakers in their workplaces and communities. But the reality is that too many young people still face systemic barriers and social conditions that challenge their ability to reach their full potential.
Since 1977, Boys Hope Girls Hope has taken a long-term, holistic, and highly individualized approach to supporting these young people on their journeys. We nurture and guide them to become well-educated, career-ready people for others, changing life trajectories by creating opportunities for economic and social mobility they would never otherwise have.
Our programming spans the critical middle and high school years, with alumni support extending through postsecondary education and career launch. Your support of Walk to Hope ensures that we can continue to bring people of many backgrounds together so that amazing things happen when talent and opportunity intersect. Join them on their journey with every step you log. The ripple effect of hope can reach far!
Our collective goal is to walk a total of 35K miles and raise $160,000!
INDIVIDUALS
Invite your family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues to donate to your fundraiser by sponsoring you! Designate your funds to the Boys Hope Girls Hope Network or your local affiliate. Compete for the Top Finisher Medal! Individuals can join a team, too!
TEAMS
Anyone can form a team! To qualify as a team, you must have at least eight (8) members, including yourself. Invite your family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues to take part in the challenge. Walk, ride, or roll together and go for the team prizes!
COMPANIES
Support the Boys Hope Girls Hope Network or your local affiliate with a corporate sponsorship.

Social Responsibility: Walk to Hope is a fun and fitness-oriented way for your employees and colleagues to invest themselves in the community. Because of its geographic scope, you can build momentum and camaraderie by forming a company-wide team or encourage healthy competition by forming regional teams!
Visibility: Last year’s Walk to Hope drew over 500 walkers from 29 states and four countries who received many messages featuring sponsor names and logos. We also tout sponsor involvement on our website, the Charity Footprints app, and strategic communications on our social media channels.
Exponential Influence: Each walker can leverage greater impact by raising funds from friends, family, and corporate matching through the Charity Footprints app. Each person can also choose to support the scholars and collegians at a specific affiliate, or all our youth through Boys Hope Girls Hope Network Headquarters.

Walk to Hope is from April 1-30, 2024. Register for $35 starting January 19, 2024. Then challenge friends, family, and colleagues to sponsor your mileage to raise even more!

The Walk to Hope takes place where you are—your home, or your neighborhood!
APP-TRACKED
All walkers and teams will be connected through the Charity Footprints app.
THE ROUTE
As “walkers” log steps and miles (tracked on the Charity Footprints app), they’ll “travel” along the 12,000-mile map connecting all Boys Hope Girls Hope affiliates across the U.S. and Latin America. They’ll learn more about the scholars they are supporting through motivating messages along the way.

How?
- Set a goal to run, walk, bike, or do other fitness activities.
- Track your progress on your favorite wearable tracker or on the Charity Footprints app.
- Activities can also be tracked via Apple Watch, Fitbit, Garmin, Misfit, Android wearables, or the Strava iOS/Android mobile app.
- No devices? No worries. You can enter your steps manually in the Charity Footprints app.

Your sponsorship or donation fuels the Boys Hope Girls Hope Network across 15 cities in the U.S., Guatemala, and Mexico and Network Headquarters in St. Louis and impacts every key transition in the lives of these scholars and their families. You’ll support our year-round, out-of-school time programming and access to technology that prepares them for life, college, and careers, our Residential pathway that offers the addition of a safe home and continuous care, and our ability to support their physical and mental health while providing transformative experiences and nurturing relationships with their peers and caring adults.
Your sponsorship or donation means we can offer initiatives like Envision U that enable scholars to explore college and career paths before they apply for post-secondary education. It means we can continue supporting scholars through their post-secondary journey and workforce entry, offering scholarship funding, post-secondary success planning, academic and emotional support services, mentoring, internships, and other professional development opportunities, including our Legacy Leader Development Summit.
